About Tuned

What is Tuned?

We're an online hearing health platform. We connect you with specialized audiologists to take care of your hearing. Our mission is to make hearing health accessible and affordable for everyone, so that's what we're doing. You can read more about us here.

Can I really get my hearing checked online?

Yes, you can. Our audiologists can accurately assess your hearing online, using many of the same tests you'd experience at an in-person hearing check. The Tuned 360 Hearing Profile is the world's most validated online hearing screening. It's affordable, convenient and quick.

Do I need to create an account?

Yes. It allows us to keep track of important information in your member portal. This is what forms the basis for your future hearing care.

What does it cost?

Tuned is an employer sponsored benefit that resides outside of the medical benefit and can be offered to all employees. For more information about the cost of offering Tuned for your company, please click the yellow 'contact us' button to fill out a request form. We'd love to help your workforce stay tuned, and look forward to hearing from you!

Hearing Assessments

Can I do a hearing test online without an appointment?

Not exactly. Although we have developed the 'EarPrint' tool (free and allows you to do a simple test), it's not a clinically-standardized test. If you're not sure, try the EarPrint tool to start.

What is the Tuned Sonic Setup?

It's a proven method for matching how you hear to the world around you. The Tuned Sonic Setup will make music sound sweeter and everything clearer. You can read about it in more detail here.

How do I understand the hearing test results?

Don’t worry, your audiologist will explain everything. The results and notes are kept in your member portal and you can refer back to them as needed.

What types of tests and treatments do your audiologists perform?

Tuned is a personalized experience and the tests will vary depending on your needs. Generally speaking, they might include the Tuned 360 Hearing Assessment or the Tuned Sonic Setup.

How can you tell which headphones or earbuds are right for me?

All devices are vetted in-house by Dr. Laura Sinnott, and each audiologist who uses the Tuned platform has the opportunity to use each device offered through Listening Club, run by Dr. Kathleen Wallace. You get the hardware & software recommendations that suit your unique hearing profile. It’s independent and completely brand neutral, so you can trust you’ll get what’s best for you.

How is hearing loss diagnosed?

Different tests help the audiologist build a profile of your hearing. The results of these tests are analyzed and used by the audiologist to accurately diagnose a hearing problem.

Do I need headphones to check my hearing online?

Yes. You don't need a special pair of headphones though, and earbuds will work too. They help reduce the ambient sound and allow for a more accurate assessment.

What happens if there’s a problem with my hearing?

If there's a problem with your hearing, our audiologists will craft a personalized plan for you. This might include ways to manage the problem, further testing, or hardware and software combinations. The important thing to know is if you do have a problem, Tuned has the same audiologists trusted by the most famous ears in the world.

Appointments

Can I do a hearing test online without an appointment?

Not exactly. Although we have developed the 'EarPrint' tool. It’s free and allows you to do a simple test to experience the difference made by tuning audio to how your ears work. It's not a hearing test as such. But we think you'll find the results interesting and it'll demonstrate why an appointment is needed.

My internet cut out half way through the appointment - what do I do?

Don't panic. When you can get back online, simply reschedule the appointment for another time.

What happens if I miss my appointment?

Hey - it happens! Simply reschedule the appointment for another time.

Is it better to see an audiologist in person?

It depends on your needs. Tuned isn't designed to replace in-person visits. We're here to make everything easier in the fight for better hearing health. For the most part, a virtual appointment can achieve the same as an in-person appointment. But if the audiologist needs to look into your ears or complete something like Bone Conduction Testing, then an in-person visit will be needed.

If I need a 2nd appointment can I speak with the same audiologist?

Yes. You can schedule an appointment with the same audiologist through Tuned. The choice is yours.

Will my virtual appointment be with an audiologist near me?

You select your audiologist. If geographic location is important to you, we'll help you connect with a nearby audiologist.

What happens if I need to see someone in person?

Then you can. And it can all be scheduled via the Tuned platform. We're not here to replace in-person visits. We're here to make hearing health more affordable and accessible. That's online and in-person.

How good are your audiologists?

Some of America's leading audiologists feature on Tuned. They are experts trusted by more than a few Grammy Award winning musicians. You really can have access to the same expertise as famous performers who rely on Tuned for their hearing health.
